My First Journey to a small lake on the outskirts

This was one of my first official journey and the most unforgettable one. I've learnt a lot from this expedition and love to share my experience. I apologize for any mistake in this post. So let's move on.

Starting with the purpose, there was no such specific reason for my journey. I'd generally like to visit lakes and snap some morning pics and here's what I planned for the day. • Wake at 0530 and get refreshed. • Leave my home at 0615. • Reach the destination at 0730. • Leave the destination at 0800. • Return to home at 0845. And the things I took with me are: • A custom printed route map  • A compass. • Pencil and a protractor. • Smartphone.

Then I started off as planned. The breeze was very chilling but liked it. I could witness the dark sky change to light. Some pics I took enroute are below

Then later I stopped at a bakery for a morning coffee. Later I moved as the map until I reached at a road which did exist on the map but was unseen in reality! I had to change my route which made me feel more frustrating. As I moved farther from my home the roads had gradually transformed from tar to mud. Next I thought a bit of off-roading, It was truly a cool experience; I've never attempted any such thing before.

And at last I've reached my destination (late by 10 minutes). The sight of the lake and its calm surroundings were so gratifying. I spent around an hour and a half there.

My experience at the lake was unforgettable, especially with the morning sunshine it was at it's best. The soil there was so dark and dusty that I had to wash my cycle to remove the red soil from it's wheels and mudguard. I've also snapped many pics some of which are in this blog.

In this journey, I've learnt a lot mostly how to get proper azimuths and finding my location on the map using a compass. And last, by visiting to such places you could not only know new things but also keep your mind free  and fresh. Thanks for reading this post and wait for more.
